Rising Stars: Meet Samantha Trantham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Trantham.

Hi Samantha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
In high school, I always wanted to make a difference in my community and anyone I came across. In 2009, I was a Copper Basin High School graduate.

As well as, a 2016 graduate of MTSU with a bachelor’s of science. After graduation, I knew I wanted to help the community where I lived. By 2018, I was elected as a 3rd district county commissioner of Polk, TN. I have since been re-elected and I enjoy every Knute of making my community a better place for everyone.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing worth it is ever easy. There is a lot of stress and tears that go into being an elected official. Sometimes we make decisions that affect a lot of people.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently, I staff and recruit for nursing homes and assisted living for the state of Georgia. The company is called Assist Healthcare Staffing. My work family is amazing.

They make you feel at home, and the owner makes sure we are a close nit work environment. I am also a county commissioner part-time, and I do everything after work. I am a member of different committees throughout the county. Donating my time to make sure we can and it a better place.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Seeing a difference in someone else’s life. Knowing that I gave someone else happiness is what makes me happy.

Currently, I am participating in an event for the boys and girls club, Dancing with the Stars. This is just like Dancing with the Stars the tv show, but we raise money for our community. It’s all about making sure we can make a difference.
