Inspiring Conversations with Rose Browne of Reflection Hour PLLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rose Browne

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When I was a kid I never envisioned I would become a licensed mental health therapist, let alone a soldier and entrepreneur. In fact, I imagined I would be an actress or singer, who escaped reality with the opportunity of playing different characters. Both of my parents, were young when they started having children. My parents started a family very early in their life with little to no support. My mom had my oldest sister when she was 14 years old and they continued to grow our family unit until it was six of us, as I am the middle child. Growing up in a large family, we experienced a lot of adversity. We spent a lot of time in and out of homeless shelters and relocating throughout different schools in New York. In spite of those experiences, our family foundation was always rooted in love and unity.

My family moved to Tennessee when my older brother decided to join the Army for new opportunities. Little did he know, moving here will change the trajectory of each one of our lives, but especially me. In my senior year of High School I became pregnant and I immediately knew I had to do something with my life to support my son. In 2011, I joined the Tennessee Army National Guard as a Human Resource Specialist. Early in my military career, I worked full-time as a Federal Technician specializing in Performance Management and also spent time volunteering as a Sexual Assault Advocate and Crisis Line Representative for the Domestic Violence Program in Murfreesboro, TN. I also volunteered for End Slavery TN, raising public awareness about Human Sex Trafficking. I have also deployed to Kuwait and Iraq serving the Special Operations Joint Task Force. Throughout those experiences, I realized my passion for mental health advocacy.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. Throughout my journey of obtaining my license and starting my business, I experienced several roadblocks. I had to overcome my own trauma and healing. I had to learn what self-care practices work best for me, practice good time management, and have healthy boundaries to avoid burn out. I also had to believe in myself that I had what it takes to be successful.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
