A singer/songwriter that changed the game “Dona Maria” a member of the Recording Academy’s Los Angeles Chapter, A Grammy U menor is a distinguished artist. Her music bridges language divides, resonating with audiences worldwide. Dona Maria’s music and music videos have pioneered fresh trends.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Challenges are inevitable in any field. How is it that when we strive to create a new path and prove ourselves in the music industry, obstacles arise? While my own challenges were not solely due to music, but rather a result of circumstances since birth, stemming from my family. Dona Maria, a Lebanese-American artist of diverse talents, was born on September 4th and is an only child. Her multifaceted career encompasses writing, theater, and music, showcasing her versatility. Following her initial foray, Dona Maria transitioned into theater, marking her second major pursuit. **Theater Breakthrough** In 2003, Dona Maria joined the children’s theater and played the role of Marguerite in the Danielle De Barabark theatrical play for a year. Her performance garnered significant attention from reporters, resulting in interviews featured in magazines and television shows. Danielle De Barabark theatrical play Notably, at a young age, Dona Maria authored the book ‘The Twin’s Secret,’ which achieved commercial success for two consecutive years. Her innate passion for storytelling subsequently led her to pursue a career in theater.
Subsequent to the release of Faces and Words in 2024, I have been engaged in rigorous collaboration with my team to bring to market Dona Maria, a cosmetics brand that I have founded, offering a diverse selection of makeup products, including mascara, liquid foundation, blush powder, and an assortment of textures, designed to accommodate various skin types. What matters most to you? Why?
My recent releases include Faces, which delves into the diverse faces we meet in our lifetime, and the meaning behind each, as well as the reasons for these encounters, and Words, which addresses the bullying we face, as celebrities or public figures, and how certain individuals assume the right to bully us and others, under the pretext of expressing their opinion, and as artists, you are entitled to share your thoughts on our art, voice, lyrics, and music, but nothing more.
And in here I will focus on the fact that no one has the right to impose a limit or set an age restriction on individuals who remain healthy and creative, and are capable of contributing and working, simply because they have reached a certain age, as deemed by outdated thinking, no, the game has changed with respect, under my will, Dona Maria
